Washington-area Combined Federal Campaign extended to Jan. 15

The National Capital Area Combined Federal Campaign has been extended through Jan. 15.

The Office of Personnel Management granted the month-long extension because many agency campaigns kicked off late, Linda Washington, chairwoman of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee, said at a luncheon Thursday. Other CFC drives nationwide end Dec. 15.

Washington said D.C.-area feds have donated more than $22 million so far toward the campaign's $64 million goal. Eleven percent of the National Capital Area's federal employees have donated, far short of the 44.3 percent goal.
