The General Services Administration’s newly formed travel advisory committee will begin reviewing per diem rates and other issues when it meets for the first time July 30.

The committee — made up of industry groups, companies and government agencies — will review existing travel policies, process and procedures and issue recommendations to encourage efficiency and increase the effectiveness of federal travel, according to the agency.

The committee will have an opportunity to issue its own opinion on ways to strengthen the fiscal 2015 per diem rate methodology, according to GSA.
