FEMA names NASA official as new CIO

The chief information officer of NASA’s Goddard Space Center will be stepping in as the new CIO at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to the agency.

Adrian Gardner will start at FEMA next week, according to the agency. Gardner was previously the CIO of the National Weather Service and deputy associate CIO for information technology reform and cybersecurity at the Energy Department.

Rob Thomas, the deputy CIO, has been acting as the agency’s CIO.
