“The Mobile Gov Blog” reports that the State Department mobile site has recently updated its mobile website, m.state.gov, with responsive design. Responsive design technology enables the site to automatically detect mobile devices and scale the site’s display accordingly.

The m.state.gov website provides foreign policy information, daily press briefings, dispatches from Secretary of State John Kerry’s travels, country fact sheets, and more.

The Comerce Department also is applying responsive design to refresh its primary website, http://beta.commerce.gov, according to FedScoop. The website search function can search all other Commerce Department sites. The responsive design not only enables scaling of the website for various user devices, it also allows site’s navigation bar to follow the user as he or she scrolls down the page, enabling easy navigation.
