The General Services Administration released an RFQ Monday for the third generation of its domestic delivery service program.
The service is part of the agency’s Federal Strategic Sourcing plan and saved agencies $50 million in shipping costs in fiscal 2013, according to the agency. The new contract is expected to save agencies $50 million annually.
The third generation contract will provide agency customers with more data on their usage patters and will help encourage fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions, according to GSA.
GSA has committed to helping develop and launch 10 new strategic sourcing solutions by the end of fiscal 2014, according the agency.
