Joe Jordan, the administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy at the Office of Management and Budget, will step down by the end of January, according to the agency.
Jordan will be leaving for a position at reverse auction company FedBid to help grow the company’s federal business, said CEO Ali Saadat.
“With a diverse career over the last twenty years of significant public and private sector procurement, contracting, business process and solution-making successes, Jordan will be a natural fit to move FedBid’s public sector business forward,” Saadat said.
Deputy administrator Lesley Field will serve as acting administrator when Jordan leaves, according to OMB.
The Office of Federal Procurement Policy aggressively pushed strategic sourcing under Jordan’s leadership and provided guidance to agencies on reducing spending on items such as professional services.
