Several senior executives at the Veterans Affairs Department’s Office of Acquisition Operations have left the agency, the VA has confirmed.
Iris Cooper, the executive director, left to become the senior procurement executive at the Treasury Department while Wendy McCutcheon, the associate executive director for the Technical Acquisition Center and Valerie Veatch, the senior acquisition technical adviser have both retired.
Michele Foster, the deputy director of the technology acquisition center and Phyllis Bower, the associate executive director, will both be taking on acting roles to fill in for Cooper, according to the VA.
VA spokeswoman Josephine Schuda said in a statement that the agency was sad to lose the executives and had benefited greatly from their years of experience. She added that during the transition the agency is “pleased to have highly skilled employees available to maintain the high level of excellence of this organization.”
