Three National Archives facilities will close or consolidate this year as the National Archives and Records Administration adjusts to reduced budgets.

One facility in Anchorage, Alaska will close, while two in Philadelphia, Pa., will be consolidated into a single site, according to Archivist of the United States David S. Ferriero.

NARA also plans to consolidate two facilities in Fort Worth, Texas, into one site within the next two years. Altogether, the consolidations and closure will save an estimated $1.3 million annually.
