Federal employees and their families will soon be eligible for a discount on tuition at the University of Maryland University College, according to an announcement by the Office of Personnel Management.

Starting this summer, federal employees, their spouses and legal dependents will be eligible for a 25 percent discount off of out-of-state tuition — for both in-person and online classes.

The new partnership will help increase federal employee access to affordable educational resources and foster a high-performing, well-trained workforce, OPM Director Katherine Archuleta said in a statement.

“We need to make federal employment attractive to our nation’s top talent and this alliance does that as well. Every day, the dedicated men and women of the federal workforce provide excellent service to the American people, and OPM is working hard to make sure they have the tools they need to do their jobs,” Archuleta said.

The tuition discount applies to UMUC’s entire offering of undergraduate courses, certifications and degree programs.
