Federal employees have only days left to fill out their Federal Employee Viewpoint Surveys and help shape policies around employee engagement, Office of Personnel director Katherine Archuleta said in a conference call June 10. The deadline is June 13.

ďA workforce that is inclusive and engaged is so essential to our success. And as we plan the presidentís second term management agenda Itís a very key element,Ē Archuleta said.

OPM is aiming for a response rate of greater than the 48 percent achieved in the 2013 survey. More than 330,000 employees have completed the survey while another 80,000 are in the process, according to OPM.

The agency also added another question to the survey asking recipients about their educational background, according to OPM. In 2013 OPM also extended the survey deadline one week to boost participation, but does not plan to do that again this year.

OPM also released a video on YouTube attempting to dispel some myths about the FEVS, such as how opinions expressed in the survey donít matter, that the survey is not confidential or that itís not a reliable survey.

Archuleta said myths should not discourage people from participating in the survey and that OPM has shaped telework policies and more around results from the survey.
