The small business portion of the General Services Administration’s OASIS contract is now open for agency business.
GSA issued a notice to proceed June 24 on the contract, which offers professional services, such as financial management and engineering, scientific and logistics services. On Feb. 24 GSA awarded 123 small businesses spots on the contract.
The Government Accountability Office dismissed several protests filed by contractors, allowing the agency to move ahead.
Tom Sharpe, the commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service, said the small business portion of the contract has the potential to provide agencies with more flexible options and to drive down costs.
“The program will strengthen the federal government by minimizing contract duplication and improving efficiency, while also delivering solid benefits to the selected OASIS SB industry partners and maximizing opportunities for small businesses,” Sharpe said.
