More than 45,000 federal employees, spouses and same-sex domestic partners signed up for the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program during the open season period earlier this year.
Long-term care open season starts today
Active federal employees and their spouses, as well as same-sex domestic partners, are able to enroll in the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program with abbreviated underwriting beginning Monday.

President Obama signed a memo June 2 extending child care, employee assistance, credit union membership and other benefits to gay and lesbian federal employees' same-sex domestic partners and their children.
