The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area has extended the end date of this year's campaign to the end of the year, Dec. 31.

The workplace giving campaign, a 55-year tradition, is a federally regulated and fully audited program that distributes the contributions of civilian and military federal employees to support causes including disaster relief, veteran services, animal rights, cancer research, education, environmental protection and much more. Donations – made through payroll deductions, credit and debit card, check, eCheck or cash – can be directed to more than 18,000 vetted charities.

"While there is still more time to make a pledge, we are encouraging federal employees in the National Capital Area to not delay in completing their pledges," said Vince Micone, chairperson of the local federal coordinating committee that oversees the campaign, in a press release. "If you have not already made a contribution, consider giving today to support the causes you are most passionate about."
