Construction and development sector government contractors looking for a design-build opportunity in the Southwest should keep an eye out in March.

In a Feb. 24 presolicitation posted to FedBizOpps, the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection agency has expressed its intention to request concept papers for prototype wall structures near the U.S. border with Mexico.

On or about March 6, 2017, CBP will ask vendors to submit concepts by March 10, 2017. Select phase 1 offerors will be contacted by March 20, 2017, and required to respond with prices to a full request for proposals.

Multiple awards may be awarded by mid-April, and an option for additional miles may be included in each contract.
