The Defense Health Agency will host an industry day on Jan. 20 to take a look at health IT offerings from vendors working through General Services Administration contracts.

DHA has chosen to partner with GSA to satisfy its health IT requirements, according to a recent FedBizOpps posting. The agency's market research showed overlap with the Alliant GWAC contractors and prime contractors formerly on the Defense Department's Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services (D/SIDDOMS) contract.  DHS decided that using GSA's suite of contracts is the best path to meet its health IT needs.

DHA and GSA are working on a special item number for health IT under GSA's Schedule 70 contract, which also will be discussed at the industry day. Interested vendors must register by Jan. 5.
