The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) — the office charged with reviewing and verifying the security of cloud service providers used by federal agencies — has a new evangelist to preach the cybersecurity gospel.

Ashley Mahan, who has been working with the program office as a cybersecurity adviser since 2014, was officially hired on as FedRAMP agency evangelist (her official title) on Oct. 21. In her new role, Mahan will work with agencies to increase adoption of FedRAMP practices and further the government's push toward more cloud computing solutions.

The transition from adviser to employee should be easy for Mahan: the team has already adopted her slogan — "One Team, One Dream" — according to FedRAMP Director Matthew Goodrich.

"Ashley is the perfect addition to the FedRAMP team," the program office wrote in a blog announcing the appointment. "She will be able to utilize her technical expertise with FedRAMP and other cyber initiatives and match that with her 'customer first' mentality."
