Martha Dorris, a General Services Administration official with a lengthy career history, earned the American Council for Technology and Industry

Advisory Council's 2015 John J. Franke Award.

Dorris, who currently is director of strategic programs for Integrated Technology Services within GSA's Federal Acquisition Service, accepted the award at the Management of Change conference in Chesapeake, Maryland.

"Throughout her career Martha Dorris has gone above and beyond the requirements of her job to promote collaboration, excellence and innovation to produce a more effective and efficient government," said ACT president Richard Holgate in bestowing the award May 18.

Dorris led GSA's Office of Citizen Services for more than10 years and established USA.gov and GobiernoUSA.gov, online portals providing the public with easy access to information.

The award is named for John J. Franke, a senior official in the Agriculture Department, appointed by President Ronald Reagan. According to ACT/IAC, Franke "was committed to the idea of a government that truly and effectively serves the public. He believed in the importance of individuals and the value of investing in their growth. He was also a strong believer in collaboration and adherence to the highest professional standards at all times."
