The General Services Administration made the first award on its new Contact Center Special Item Number contract, designed to give agencies a broader array of technological options for their offices that interface with the public.
MAXIMUS Federal, a Reston, Virginia-based company that provides business management solutions to government agencies, announced Nov. 5 that it had received the first award.
“As the first contact center SIN awardee, we are both honored and excited to bring our proven expertise and next-generation technology to help agencies with their citizen engagement and contact center services,” said Bruce L. Caswell, president and CEO of MAXIMUS, in a news release.
"Over the last two years, MAXIMUS Federal has participated in market research, industry days and requests for information to support the GSA's plans to establish this innovative contract vehicle."
The new Contact Center SIN is designed to replace the old contract, USA Contact, which expired August 2018 and offered a relatively narrow set of solutions.
The new SIN, which lives under the Schedule 70 IT contracts, will be able to onboard new technologies more quickly to offer agencies a wider array of options.
