President Donald Trump announced March 4 that he intends to nominate former Federal Labor Relations Authority Chiarman Dale Cabaniss to lead the Office of Personnel Management.

Cabaniss has served as counsel and Republican staff director for two Senate committees.

She was twice confirmed by voice vote in the Senate to serve on the FLRA in 1997 and 2003.

The director post at OPM has remained vacant since former Director Jeff Pon left the acency in October 2018, after just seven months on the job. Margaret Weichert, the deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget, has served as acting OPM director since then.
