If you're in the market for a helicopter capable of tactical law enforcement operations or snuffing forest fires, the General Services Administration can hook you up.

The agency posted on its Interact site that it was expediting the awarding of helicopters configured for law enforcement, firefighting, and search and rescue operations under its Multiple Awards Schedule 84 — Total Solutions for Law Enforcement.

The awards schedule provides several law enforcement products — from vehicles to drug testing equipment and fire safety materials — and offers state and local governments access to those products through the Cooperative Purchasing Program.

Cheryl Roney, a Business Development Specialist at the Federal Acquisition Service, said in a March 24 blog post that GSA would offer helicopters under Special Item Number 567-99 for sale from contractor Davenport Aviation after the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the Hillsborough County Florida Sheriff’s Office requested an expedited award of the MAS offering.

The helicopters, Airbus H125, are a popular law enforcement model and hold the word record for the highest-altitude landing and takeoff, according to Airbus’ website.

Davenport Aviation is offering new helicopters under a base GSA price tag of $2.7 million exclusive of the Industrial Funding Fee or $2.79 million inclusive of the IFF fee.
